Description: This nationally-recognized program was developed by Indianapolis pediatrician Dr. Patricia Keener after a colleague’s toddler choked to death while in the care of an adult sitter who didn’t know what actions to take. Students who complete the Safe Sitter® program gain confidence and learn how, why and where injuries can happen so they can be prevented and learn infant and child choking rescue. They also learn how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior, how to run their own babysitting business as well as issues of online and cellphone safety. This program is for children aged 11 to 13. The cost is $15.00.

Location: Cameron Hospital Learning Center
Description: Did you know that Cameron Hospital offers outpatient diabetic education with a doctors referral. Our education team consists of a Certified Diabetic Educator and a registered dietitian. Whether you are a newly diagnosed Type 1 or Type 2 diabetic, the primary caregiver to a diabetic family member, or a long term diabetic who needs to find out the latest on diet, exercise and treatment, Cameron can help. Talk to your doctor to see if diabetic education is for you. Class is from 8:00am to 4:00pm and lunch is provided.
