Ellen Bisson Promoted to COO of Cameron Hospital

Ellen M. Bisson has been promoted to the newly created position of Chief Operating Officer of Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, according to Gregory T. Burns, Cameron Hospital’s president and CEO. In her new role as COO, Bisson will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hospital, and functioning as Cameron’s executive leader in the absence of the Chief Executive Officer. She, along with Cameron’s Chief Financial Officer, Darryl Faye, will serve as Burns’ top leadership advisors. Her promotion is effective immediately.

“Ellen’s scope of authority, breadth of responsibility, and vital contributions to the success of Cameron Memorial Community Hospital qualify her for this key leadership role,” said Burns. “She has played a major role in the administration of the hospital over the years, served as interim CEO for the past seven months, and will be an invaluable part of the hospital’s administrative team as we plan for our hospital’s future success,” he added.

Bisson, who has been with Cameron since 1974, is a registered nurse (RN), at one time served as the hospital’s director of nursing, and just prior to her current promotion, was Cameron’s vice president. She received her MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University, and is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives.
