Cameron Hospital Board of Directors


The Cameron Hospital Board of Directors is composed of 11 community members that are dedicated to the mission of the Hospital. Our team commits to exceptional service and the highest quality, safest care - every patient, every time.

Meet the Board



Jennifer Danic, Chairr
          Jennifer Danic is the Chair of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2013. She is the President and CEO of the Steuben County Community Foundation since 2011 and earned her Certified Fund Raising Executive credential in 2011.
          Jennifer was born at Cameron Hospital, birth two children at Cameron Hospital and plans to die at Cameron Hospital- in the far away future, of course. She has been married to her college sweetheart, David, for ten years. Together they have two sons, Jesse and Ryan, just 17 months apart.




Deborah McHenry, Vice-Chair
          Deborah McHenry is the Vice-Chair on the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2015. She is the Executive Director of Student Success and Retention at Trine University and has been in the industry for 20 years. Deb received her undergraduate degree from Indiana University. She has served as a co-chair and moderator for the Angola Women's Business Forum, served on the Steuben County Board of Directors, as well as the United Way Board of Directors and the Carnegie Public Library Board of Directors.
          Deb enjoys attending various community events, as well as visiting with friends and reading to students in elementary school.





Barbara Short, Treasurer
          Barbara Short is the Treasurer on the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2005. She is retired from Lincoln Financial Group where she worked for 18 years as an Assistant Vice President and Due Diligence Officer where she was responsible for the oversight of investment managers. Barbara is now employed with her family business, D.A.S, where they specialize in the repair and manufacture of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders. She is a member of the CFA Institute, National Federation of Independent Business.
          In her spare time, Barbara enjoys spending time outdoors, fishing, boating, and riding ATVs.




Dan Caruso, Secretary
          Dan Caruso is the Secretary on the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and he has served on the board since 2016. Dan has worked with his family restaurant, Caruso's, for the past 41 years, and has served as the Assistant Vice-President of Commercial Lending with Farmers and Merchants State Bank in Angola for the past 5 years. He is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association, Court of the Master Sommelier, a member of the Association of Indiana Counties, a volunteer with Junior Achievement and has served on numerous boards and advisory panels.
          Dan has been married to his wife, Lorrie, for 30 years. Together they have two daughters, Natalie and Rachel. In his spare time, Dan enjoys anything that involves the lake, outdoors, traveling or food and wine.




Tom Miller, MD, Immediate Past-President
          Tom Miller, MD, is the Immediate Past-President on the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2011. Dr. Miller completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and his graduate degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Miller is a physician with Cameron Family Medicine, and he is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Indiana State Medical Association. He is a volunteer at the Faith Community Health Clinic and has served on the Steuben County Literacy Coalition Board of Directors.





Jonathan Alley, DO
          Jonathan Alley, DO, is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and he has served on the board since 2015. Dr. Alley is a private family physician in Angola. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and his graduate degree at Michigan State University. He is a member of the Indiana State Medical Society, the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons, the Christian Medical and Dental Association and the American Board of Family Medicine.
          Dr. Alley is married to his wife, Michelle, and together they have two children. He is the music leader at his local church and enjoys providing full-range family medicine to his patients.



Terry Vanette
          Terry Vanette is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and he has served on the board since 2003. Terry is retired from Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance, where he served Steuben County for over 40 years. Terry is a graduate of the Purdue University Life Insurance Marketing Institute and received his Charted Life Underwriter degree from American College. He has served on the Orland Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Pokagon Longrifles.
          Terry has been married to his wife, Karen, for 46 years, and together they have two sons and four grandchildren.





Jonathan Cress
          Jonathan Cress is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and he has served on the board since 2017. Jonathan has been employed with Cress Law Group PC for 12 years, and he is a member of the American Bar Association, Indiana Bar Association and the Steuben County Bar Association. In his spare time, Jonathan volunteers with the Legal Pro Bono Program. He also serves on the Steuben County Tourism Bureau Board of Directors, is involved with the Young Professional Network and the Angola Chamber of Commerce.






Todd Rumsey, MD
          Todd Rumsey, MD is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2017. He completed his undergraduate degree at DePauw University and his graduate degree at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Rumsey is an area OB/GYN, and he previously served as a physician with Women's Health Advantage from 1995 to 2017. Dr. Rumsey is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association, the Fort Wayne Medical Society, the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
          In his spare time, Dr. Rumsey is involved with the Foellinger Foundation, the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo and Canterbury Schools, and enjoys spending time outside with his family.



Oren Skinner, EdD
          Oren Skinner, EdD is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2017. Dr. Skinner is a retired school administrator, having served as the Superintendent of Schools for the Metropolitan School District of Steuben County from 1984 to 2002. After a successful career in education, Dr. Skinner continued his endeavors as the Development Officer and the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Steuben County Community Foundation from 2004-2011. He is a founding member and a trustee of the YMCA of Steuben County and has served on a number of boards and in leadership roles throughout the community.
          Dr. Skinner has been married to his wife, Joyce, for 43 years, and together they have two sons and two grandchildren.


Denny Zent, DDS
          Denny Zent, DDS, is a member of the Cameron Hospital Board of Directors and has served on the board since 2017. He completed his undergraduate degree at Indiana University, his doctorate degree at Indiana University and his master's degree at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Dr. Zent is a member of the American Dental Association and the Indiana Dental Association and currently serves in his third term as an Indiana State Representative for District 51. As a Representative, he serves on the Local Government, Public Health, Veteran Affairs and Public Safety committees. Over the years, he has served on a number of area boards and currently serves on the board of Shepherds House and the Howe Military Academy Board of Trustees. He is a volunteer at the Matthew 25 Community Health Clinic.
          Dr. Zent has been married to his wife, Wendy, for 47 years, and together they have two children and seven grandchildren. Dr. Zent is a veteran of both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Airforce.
