Cameron Memorial Community Hospital is pleased to offer the latest in diagnostic tools to assist our patients with respiratory illnesses. The following services are available through Cameron's Respiratory Therapy department.
CardiacEKG's - Used to evaluate heart damage, evaluation of anti-arrhythmic medications, pacemaker/ICD function, evaluate symptoms like chest discomfort, shortness of breath, palpitations, dizziness, lightheadedness, and pre-op evaluation.
EKG rhythm strip - Used to evaluate longer periods of EKG data.
Holter Monitoring - Records EKG data onto a flash card for a specified period of time, usually 24 hours.
Exercise Stress Testings - Heart rate, 12-lead EKG data, breathing, blood pressure and patient symptoms are evaluated while the patient is stressed by exercising on a treadmill. The ordering physician is in attendance during the test.
PulmonaryPulmonary Function Testing - Breathing maneuvers that measure how well the lungs take in and release air and how well they move gases such as oxygen from the atmosphere into the body's circulation.
Methacholine Challenge - The measurement of lung function before and after the administration of medication used to diagnose asthma.
NeurologicalElectroencephologram (EEG) - Measurement of the continuous brain-wave patterns, or electrical activity of the brain recorded to evaluate seizures, syncope, or altered levels of consciousness.
