Community Health Needs Assessment

To best assess the health needs of residents in the community, Cameron Memorial Community Hospital partners with the Indiana Rural Health Association (IRHA) every three years to conduct the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The assessment identifies the current state of those the hospital serves and ways to improve the health and wellness of The Steuben County community.

Assessing and Addressing Community Health Needs

Cameron and the IRHA are partnering again in 2022 to conduct the latest iteration of the CHNA. A 64-question survey, developed by a steering committee of representatives from Steuben County and Cameron, is now available to the public.

The CHNA survey helps identify the health-related needs of the county and common concerns among residents, including mental health support, youth services and affordable healthcare. Cameron encourages all Steuben County residents to complete the survey and help us understand how we can best serve you.

“Cameron is dedicated to our community, and the Community Health Needs Assessment helps us listen to our neighbors and identify ways we can meet their specific needs,” said Ryan Sheets, Cameron’s wellness coordinator. “This is an exciting opportunity for us to hear directly from the people we serve and meet them where they need us.”

The questions included in the 2022 CHNA survey were developed through resident focus groups, reinforcing the study’s commitment to the Steuben County community. After survey responses are collected, IRHA will analyze the data and release key findings to the public.
