Swinging for a Cause: The 30th Annual Cameron Classic Golf Outing

Every year, as the start of summer approaches, anticipation builds for one of the most enjoyable and impactful events on our calendar: the Annual Cameron Classic Golf Outing. This beloved tradition not only brings together golf enthusiasts for a day of fun, but also serves a noble purpose by raising funds for a cause close to our hearts: the development of the Cameron Education and Innovation Center.

The Education and Innovation Center will be an extension of Cameron Hospital’s campus that will provide access to critical health and education training to ultimately meet the region’s growing healthcare needs.

The mission of this development is to create a hub of healthcare expertise that attracts students, retains professionals, and boosts the growth and success of Steuben County and the surrounding areas. This will be accomplished through partnerships with Trine University, local schools, first responders and community members to create unique programming in high demand healthcare professions, such as nursing.

The 18-hole Cameron Classic was a fun-filled day of golf, games, networking and community at a local top-rated golf course, Glendarin Hills Golf Club. Golfers were met with a light breakfast, lunch, dinner, refreshments throughout the day and a gift to take home!

The day began with an early start, as golfers gathered at the clubhouse, exchanging warm greetings, and listening to the opening remarks from Cameron’s Chief Nursing Officer, Julie McCormick. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation for the warm day ahead. With coffee in hand and scorecards ready, 37 teams headed to their holes for a shotgun start.

Cameron team members joined together to create a memorable event and some even played with a number of our sponsors and other participants! From helping golfers register to hosting fun games across the course, our team was dedicated to making it a great day for all.

As the day ended, everyone gathered at the clubhouse for a delicious dinner and awards ceremony. Prizes were handed out for the longest drive, best overall score, and many more.

Thank you to our amazing sponsors (listed below) who helped make this day possible through their generous support! As we reflect on another successful outing, we’re filled with gratitude for everyone who participated, volunteered, and donated. Here’s to many more years of swinging for a cause and making an impact, one stroke at a time.
