We specialize in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), which includes Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD)

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic disorder that affects the digestive tract. It can cause inflammation, irritation and damage to the lining of the intestines, resulting in symptoms that can cause a range of discomfort. The two main forms of IBD are Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. While Crohn’s can impact any part of the GI system, colitis is specific only to the large intestine.

Crohn’s disease

Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract. It causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, severe diarrhea, fatigue and weight loss. Crohn’s disease is a long-term condition that can lead to complications such as fistulas and strictures.

Ulcerative colitis

Ulcerative colitis is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that primarily affects the colon and the rectum. It causes inflammation and ulcers in the lining of the colon, leading to symptoms such as abdominal pain, diarrhea and rectal bleeding. Ulcerative colitis is a long-term condition that can lead to an increased risk of colon cancer.
