October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

At Cameron Hospital Breast Cancer Awareness Month is “Pinktober”.  During the month of October we proactively spread the word on the importance of screenings and self-exams.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month across the country. This is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the importance of preventive screening of the disease.

Breast Cancer is treatable especially when detected early.  That’s one of the reasons why Cameron Hospital wants to shed the light on the importance of breast cancer screenings during the month of October.

Who We Help

Meet Mollie, a Cameron Foundation Recipient.

Children aren’t meant to live quiet lives. That’s what life was like for Mollie, whose main hearing organ never fully developed, leaving her with only partial hearing. In 2019, the Cameron Auxiliary provided half of the $5,000 necessary for Mollie’s implants. The Cameron Foundation matched that amount, and together they gave Mollie the gift of hearing.

Her mother Emily explains the impact, “With Mollie’s hearing aids, provided by the Cameron Foundation, she is able to hear and comprehend much more than she previously could.”

Thanks to the Cameron Foundation’s generous community of donors, Mollie received life-changing hearing aids that turned up the volume on her entire life.

My hearing aids make me feel happy and I now have a bigger world that I can hear.
