Questa Education Foundation

Questa Education Foundation

Cameron is proud to partner with Questa Education Foundation to support students pursuing health care careers by covering certain college expenses and connecting students with career opportunities at Cameron. Students who participate in the program are eligible for up to $5,000 per year for two years in loan funding that can be 100% forgiven when students graduate and accept employment at Cameron Hospital. To qualify, students must be residents of northeast Indiana, accepted or enrolled in a health care program, and within two years of completing their program.

Health Professional Shortage Area

In an effort to invest in our providers, Cameron secured a federal designation as a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) for Steuben and Allen counties. The designation opens the doors to benefits such as federal- and state-funded student loan forgiveness for physicians, advanced practitioners and nurses. Along with our health care providers, Cameron Hospital is committed to the health and well-being of our community. As a designated HPSA, we’re confident we can boost access to high-quality health care in our community.

Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

As part of its designation as an HPSA, Cameron secured additional support for its nurses. The Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program, which is available to nurses in rural and underserved communities, helps repay nursing school loans in exchange for a commitment to work in a health care facility that’s facing a nursing shortage. Cameron is proud to offer access to the program to its nursing workforce.

Education and Innovation Center

In even the largest cities, nurses are in high demand and short supply. In less populated communities like those in Steuben County, the nursing shortage is even more critical. In 2023, Cameron invested in the future of the community by opening the Cameron Education and Innovation Center, a state-of-the-art facility that will help meet our community’s growing health care needs.

The Education and Innovation Center will help us address and counteract the nursing shortage by accelerating workforce growth and improving the quality of care that our community receives. In conjunction with Trine University’s Associate Science of Nursing Program, the center will help promote the future of Steuben County by attracting talent, accelerating population growth and improving the quality of life for community members. The center also provides extensive opportunities for ongoing professional training for current Cameron employees.
