About Cameron Family Medicine

Cameron’s Family Medicine physicians are board-certified and able to provide ongoing, personalized care to children, adolescents, adults and seniors. We treat individuals and entire families, taking the time to truly get to know our patients in order to provide a lifetime of care that is backed by the full resources of Cameron Memorial Community Hospital.

In addition to in-office visits at our Angola and Fremont locations, Cameron Family Medicine also offers telehealth visits for our primary care patients. What Is Family Medicine?

Our family medicine doctors in Angola and Fremont care for individuals of any age, from newborns to the elderly. The care we provide stems into several branches of medicine, such as:

Adult Medicine

Geriatrics

Adolescent Medicine

Pediatrics

Our family care physicians often provide care to our patients throughout their whole lives. We care for multiple family member generations simultaneously.

Family Medicine and Primary Care Services We Provide

Cameron Family Medicine offers a variety of services. From newborns to seniors, and all in between, we find it a rewarding experience to offer primary care services throughout our patient’s lifespan. We believe family medicine covers far more than providing you with healthcare. It’s relationship and trust building with you that drives us here at our Fremont family clinic and West Maumee location.

We are your central hub for testing, specialized care, and lab results. Our family health specialists here at Cameron Family Medicine also help you manage an ongoing condition, and if needed, refer you to surgeons, specialists, or hospitals.

The Importance of Finding the Right Physician for Your Family

Finding a family care physician means more than finding a healthcare provider. We strive to be your healthcare partner throughout your life to ensure you and your family meet your health goals now and throughout the future.

Below are just a few of the reasons that finding a primary care doctor is crucial to your long-term health:

○ Family physicians build a relationship with you. They get to know and record your family and personal medical history thoroughly when they treat you for years.

○ Family physicians provide high-quality healthcare by providing routine and preventative screenings, making accurate diagnoses, monitoring health changes, and watching for red flags to catch health issues early.

○ Family physicians help better manage chronic diseases.

○ Family physicians find the best fit when you need a specialist.

○ Family physicians can help you lower your healthcare costs through routine physicals, screenings, and immunizations.

○ Family physicians are a trusted health care advisor who can help you navigate the healthcare system.

○ Family physicians treat the whole person.

Questions You Should Ask Your Family Doctor

Q: Is family medicine the same as primary care?

A: While there is some overlap, the main difference between the two is that primary care typically does not care for children or adolescents, whereas family medicine providers treat children, adults, and seniors.

Q: What tests should I have done?

A: The types of tests you should have done is dependent on many factors, including any symptoms you’re currently experiencing, as well your family history.

Q: How important is my family health history?

A: Your family health history is essential. It can help your doctor determine what symptoms to watch out for, and can also help your provider develop a health plan for you based on your certain risk factors.

Q: Does my child need medication for this?

A: It’s important to ask about the importance of certain antibiotics or medications, as many different diseases will correct themselves on their own without any medicine.

Q: How important is sleep for my health?

A: Sleep is critical for your overall health. Not only is good sleep essential for your health, but any lack of sleep or trouble sleeping should be discussed with your doctor.

Q: Can my mental health affect my physical health?

A: Absolutely. Taking care of your mental health can improve your physical health. On top of that, ignoring your mental health can adversely affect your physical health.
