All Aboard: Highlights from the Cameron Christmas Train Adventure

This holiday season, the magic of Christmas came to life as the Cameron Christmas Train, in partnership with the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, brought holiday magic to surrounding communities.

Santa himself made stops in Edon, Ohio, and various towns in Indiana, including Hamilton, Ashley/Hudson, Angola, South Milford, Fremont, and Ray, as well as several Michigan communities such as Montgomery, Reading, Hillsdale, Jonesville, Quincy, and Coldwater.

The train brought smiles and holiday cheer to children and families by handing out an incredible 10,500 presents! Cameron had close to forty ‘elves’ who volunteered between the three nights, making sure that no child left empty handed. Even surprise visitors like the Grinch joined in on the fun and rode the train into town.

In Fremont, children and their families sang “Jingle Bells” to welcome Santa with excitement and laughter. In Pleasant Lake and Angola, the Grinch joined in some light-hearted fun by playing tricks on kids and keeping everyone entertained with his playful antics. In Edon, families warmed up with hot cocoa and Christmas treats generously provided by local businesses, furthering the spirit of community and generosity. These were just a few of the special moments we experienced. However, moments like this weren’t just about holiday fun – they were about creating memories with families that will last a lifetime.

The Cameron Christmas Train helped bring all of these communities together. Each stop was unique and reminded families of the importance of community, kindness, and the magic of Christmas.

The Cameron Christmas Train showcased how small moments of togetherness can make a significant impact. Cameron Memorial Community Hospital is proud to have been a part of this effort and hopes to make this magical journey an annual tradition. We’d like to thank the Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society, the Indiana Northeastern Railroad Company, the Little River Railroad, and all of the volunteers who made each of these nights so special. It was truly heart-warming seeing the children so excited to connect with Santa and experience the holiday magic.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
